Hi all, a lot of people are having issues with changing boot screens on their Carpuride W702 units. Video below shows the steps needed and I will also lay out in text with recommendations:

First off, you should use either a 16GB or 32GB card and MUST BE FAT 32 formatted! Do not use anything bigger. You are also better off using an older type card or slower card than one of the faster, newer cards - which can also be an issue.

In the below video I used a very cheap 32GB card from Temu which was around 5 euros to buy - get something similar or an Amazon basics micro sd card. Don't buy a card thinking you should get the latest, faster cards and use it for other things. I also use a 16GB card that is one of the first micro sd cards that came out and it works perfectly.

  1. Format card to FAT 32 on your PC or MAC
  2. Add bin file to card (must have no other files or folders)
  3. Insert card into display's slot, but do not push in all the way.
  4. Power up display.
  5. Push the card in fully.
  6. Press the tick button on screen.
  7. Unit should re-boot with new boot screen.

If it is not working, then it is either:

Formatting incorrect

Other files on the card

Card does not work with the unit

Bin file is impaired - try a different bin file

Note that if you are using a Mac and you delete a file off the card, you must also empty the bin / trash on the Mac for it to be fully deleted, failure to do this - it will not be fully deleted and it won't work, even though it no longer shows when you look into the contents of the card.
